Drunk vs Sober Personalities

After a night out there is always a couple people using the classic “I was really drunk” excuse when justifying any reckless behaviour. Most of us are guilty of this or have witnessed this but after a couple minutes reflecting on your drunken behaviour, you continue on with your life suppressing your ‘drunk personality’ until the next weekend.

This is the beginning of the drunken personality split, but I was always under the assumption that alcohol just enhances the emotions already embedded in your personality, and if you really think about it; the cool, calm, collected sober personality that most people know and love… is basically a facade. Naturally as humans we are emotional, impulsive and reckless just like any other mammal on the planet, but humans have engineered so many social stigmas and stereotypes that it has become natural and normal to suppress 80% of your feelings on a daily basis. Every animal besides humans are given the freedom to impulse and instinct which makes me feel like a green eyed monster or something.

I know this is an extremely radical point but I find it interesting figuring out why drunk personalities are more honest than sober ones.
