Money, Money, Money

Since I was a child money has always been an abstract concept to me, then later in life I was enlightened about the barter system and the world suddenly made more sense. We strayed away from trading goats and cows mainly due to politics, colonialism and greed BUT lately I keep thinking of how money wastes so much of our time.

We spend our lives learning to make money without learning how to save it- this is the first step to the downward spiral of modern life. The idea of money has kept our perception of time in a confined box as we believe the best way to spend life is making money is through a 9-5 and we should actually feel rewarded by the weekend (which were only made for consumers to spend the money they’ve been working for all week anyways).

I wish everyone would notice the beauty in living an average, simple life but our teachers, leaders and even parents guide us into the never-ending cycle of eat, sleep, work repeat.

We were not born to pay off debt and help boost and circulate whats left of this pathetic economy.

Till next time,

S

  1. Unfortunately, we need money to do all the things we want to do! I’m a teacher, and I find it quite difficult to balance encouraging kids to pursue life and pursue a way to support themselves at the same time.

  4. Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of
that, this is excellent blog. A fantastic read.

    I will definitely be back.
